What are the benefits of lemon essential oil?

The essential oil of lemon is collected by cold pressure of the lemon zest. It is pale yellow and has a fruity, fresh and acidic smell.

Mainly effective against infections thanks to its antiseptic and antibacterial virtues, lemon essential oil has multiple properties. It is also a cure for healing.

Lemon essential oil softens blood and strengthens blood vessels, reducing the risk of phlebitis. It purifies the digestive system, calms bowel pain and heartburn, relieves nausea and transport sickness. More generally, lemon essential oil provides good digestion and drains the liver.

The properties of this essential oil also prevent the formation of kidney stones.

Known for cleaner air thanks to its astringent and depleting properties.

In application to the skin, the essential oil of lemon is exfoliating. Perfect for skin care and anticellulite treatments.

This essence considerably reduces the stains on the skin but it must always be used in the evening to avoid photosensitisation, i.e. reactivity to sun exposure. Thanks to its exfoliating action, it can be used as a scrub on the face, always in the evening. This use is not recommended for fine and fragile skin, at the risk of irritation.

Lemon essential oil is known for its effect in limiting liver degradation. When using phenol essential oil such as cinnamon or tea tree essential oil, it is advisable to also take a hepato-protective essential oil such as lemon essential oil to avoid possible liver toxicity.

Useable as a deodorizer, lemon essential oil has surface antibacterial properties: i.e., it can be used as an antiseptic to sanitize and leave a fresh and fruity smell in your rooms.

Tip for using organic lemon essential oil

How to use lemon essential oil?

Ambience diffusion: Mix lemon, grapefruit and sweet orange essential oil. Put 6 to 15 drops in a diffuser and broadcast 10 to 20 minutes 1 to 3 times a day.

Spots on face/body: Add 1 drop to your face or body cream, apply only in the evening to avoid photosensitivity problems for 1 month. This mixture is not recommended for fine and sensitive skin.

For ultra-gloss hair: add 30 drops in 100 ml of shampoo, or a few tastes in a care without rinsing and spread it over all hair. Avoid sun exposure within 3 hours of application.

Difficult and bad breath: Pour 1 drop into 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil before the meal for 1 to 2 times a day.

Nausea: Pour a few drops on a handkerchief and breathe deeply. Suitable for pregnant women or children. You can also stop nausea by taking 1 drop on a half-sugar or 1 teaspoon of honey or vegetable oil.
