Description of organic peppermint essential oil

Peppermint is a perennial aromatic plant. It originated from the cross between aquatic mint and green mint.

Originally from Great Britain where it is called "peppermint", it is now cultivated worldwide. It originated from steam distillation of leaves often harvested before flowering. There are several varieties of mint. It is biologically 100% pure and natural peppermint aerial part.

What are the benefits of peppermint oil?

This oil is rich in natural menthol because the mints picked after the night more fresh contain more menthol. Used for a long time (from the 1st millennium B.C.E.) for its essential oil and cooking for the peppery flavor of its leaves, it has many interesting virtues against everyday problems but also against other more serious ones (nausea, gastroenteritis, difficult digestions, hypotension, migraine, bad breath, bad transport, cold, acne, insect bite...).

Some people use peppermint oil as part of their beauty and hair care program. Its fragrance is pleasant and is commonly found in shampoos, skin creams and other products.

For hair:

While peppermint oil is known for its benefits on the skin, it is also effective for hair and scalp. It can help in dry hair, itching or other scalp problems. Several ways to use:

  • Massage the scalp directly.
  • Add a tablespoon of your favorite scalp massage oil.
  • If you do not have massage oil for the scalp, you can use a support oil such as coconut oil, jojoba or shea butter.
  • Leave for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash your hair with shampoo.
  • Add a few drops of essential oils to your shampoo tubes and/or after shampooing (about 5 drops).

Advice:

This really powerful oil reminds us that we must consume it in moderation. Although peppermint essential oil can be used in all routes of administration, it is prohibited for pregnant and lactating women, babies and children under 6 years of age. It is not recommended for epilepsy. It contains very few potentially allergenic components, with less than 4% limonene and linalol.

The essential oil of peppermint undiluted with another medium can cause a burning sensation on the skin. Always dilute the oils with a support oil to help protect your skin. Avoid putting essential oils in your eyes and never consume undiluted essential oils as this can cause side effects.
